This surrealist picturesque scene features a light blue sky with hints of pink, behind a large prominent tree. Presumably it is late winter, before any leaves have had a chance to regroup. Small mountains can be seen off in the distance, but the figure is otherwise alone.

While implied in the title, it is not apparent whether the tree resides in the middle of a flooded creek, alongside one out of view, if this is the name of a location, or if the artist is merely trying to make a play on words. Or all of the above.

Each mini art print is 10cm x 15cm, and can be mailed anywhere in the world (from the U.S.) for the cost of a single postcard stamp. Because they are designed to be mailed, they have been built solid.

Painted: 2013
dimensions: 20" x 30"
status: missing in action
media: pen & ink, acrylic, dry eraser marker

I painted this abstract / surreal tree painting "live" on stage in Urbanna, Virginia over two evenings with several other bands. I asked several of the musicians their favorite colors beforehand, using that as my palette, and found inspiration & energy from the music itself. The last band on the 2nd evening was a local reggae powerhouse, and you can see the colors of red, green & yellow showing predominantly on the top layers.
