Red, white & various shades of blue wave proudly in this abstract expressionistic painting by Virginian born Brian Moss. With hints of orange and green and a couple of yellow highlilghts the allegiance seem a little less forced and a bit more free (for a lack of better words).

The postcard reproduction is professionally printed on thick 14 point cardstock made up of about 1/2 post consumer waste. Each weighs a solid 5 grams in weight and feels sturdy.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I painted this on the evening of July 4th 2011, feeling inspired after watching a local fireworks show. While not usually nationalistic in the literal sense of painting it out, everything hit a nerve this night. At the time I thought it was incomplete, but I now like the minimalist style without as much detail as some of my other pen & ink paintings.
